This time the EU imposed sanctions on Putin's two daughters

After the United States and the United Kingdom, the European Union (EU) has banned Putin's two daughters, Maria Vrontsova, 36, and Katerina Tikhonova, 35.  The latest round of bans includes more than 200 people.  This information has been known from the official list published at the end of the day on Friday.  News AFP.

After the invasion of Ukraine, Western countries and their allies have been imposing one sanctions after another on important Russian institutions and individuals.  The latest EU embargo also includes the seizure of assets of 16 more companies and travel bans.

Earlier, the United States and Britain banned Putin's two daughters.  The two countries' sanctions list also includes Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's daughter, Sergei Vina Vukurova.

Maria and Katrina were named in a recent round of talks on renewed Western sanctions against Moscow in the wake of the Russian military's "atrocities" in the Ukrainian city of Bucha.

Putin has long been in power in Russia.  But family members have rarely been seen with him in public at this time.  Pictures of his family members are also not available.  Liudmila is the mother of Putin's two daughters.  She divorced Putin in 2013.

At a news conference in 2015, Putin was asked about the names of his daughters.  He said his two daughters live in Russia.  They also studied in Russia.  They can speak three foreign languages.

Earlier this week, EU member states agreed to add Putin's two daughters to the sanctions list.  However, it came into effect at the end of the day on Friday.  The list includes 218 people, including Putin's two daughters.  With this, 1,091 people from Russia were brought under the ban.

Russia launched an offensive in Ukraine on February 24, declaring its move to join the NATO military alliance a threat to its security.  NATO and European countries, including the United States, have been cooperating with Ukraine in this war with money and weapons.  Besides, they have been imposing one ban after another on various individuals and organizations in Russia.
